Ambassador Tarja Fernández
Ambassador of Finland to Lebanon
Ambassador Tarja Fernández entered the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland in 1994. Before coming to Lebanon, she served as the Ambassador of Finland to Kenya, from where she also covered Somalia, Eritrea, Seychelles, and Uganda. She also served as the permanent representative of UN Office in Nairobi (UNON). She has previously worked as the Director of the Unit for European Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), as well as in various other positions within the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland as well as Finnish Embassies abroad.
Mohamad Chamas
Mohamad CHAMAS was born in 1984. In 2001 he studied the specialty that he always loved: Biochemistry.
In 2007 he participated on proposing and developing the Arab accreditation for cooperation principles and structure, ARAC. This period marked his career and became the Quality Manager at LIBNOR.
Mr. CHAMAS built more than 12 years of experience in sustainable development, social responsibility, Total Quality Management and Quality Management Systems, accreditation and OSHAS, more than 12 years of experience in auditing – He is registered at IRCA: “THE INTERNATIONAL REGISTER OF CERTIFICATED AUDITORS" as a Lead Auditor.
In 2010, he drafted the Arab Quality Award Scheme, and he was appointed as member of the Experts Committee for the Arab Quality Award organized by the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization – AIDMO and he was selected as assessor at the Lebanese Excellence Award.
In 2011, he was selected by the International Organization for Standardization as ISO 26000 – Social Responsibility (SR) national expert and appointed as coordinator of the ISO MENA project related to Social Responsibility in Lebanon.
In November 2013, Mr. Chamas was appointed as head of delegation for a Lebanese team of experts involved in developing new draft related to quality in educational field at Porto, Portugal
In June 2014 he was appointed as service director at the Lebanese standards Institution – LIBNOR, and a member of the high council committee for developing strategy for AIDMO,
In 2015, he was appointed as NATIONAL PROJECT MANAGER under the ISO MENA star project aiming at providing carbon foot print, water foot print and energy management system consultancy and raising awareness on international standards related to these topics.
As expert and trainer, he played a major role in promoting sustainable development and international standards in Lebanon through international workshops, seminars, and awareness events.
In March 2014, He was rewarded by the World Bank Egypt and the Arab republic of Egypt for his effort to train more than 130 Managerial position in the public sector on total quality management principles
In September 2014, he received an Award from the Union of Arab Chambers and Libnor for his remarkable efforts in developing new CSR/sustainability tools and strategies.
